Harrison Fagg, architect, business owner, former speaker of the Montana State Legislature, and founder of Montana Man in the Mirror gave one of the most talked about presentations at the Annual Summit. Harrison gave some great ideas and tips on how one man can make a difference, and on some next steps for leaders to "own" their area for Man in the Mirror. (Remember? "We all ARE Man in the Mirror.")
We already blogged about it below, but several have asked for his presentation. So, here it is!

Feedback is beginning to come in
You guys put on a very helpful Summit. Your generosity, laser focus, variety of God Talks and interviews, input gathering workshops all contributed to a very positive experience for me. ... Thank you so much for all your efforts. I will implement many ideas and build some connections with Michigan men’s ministry leaders because of this conference.
Lasting Impressions from the Summit
- MIM is generous with resources; meals; prayers and encouragements
- MIM Staff are approachable, knowledgeable, direct, open, encouraging, real;
- It would be better to come with 1-3 guys – a bit awkward at tables and on my own for Friday night meal. (meeting plan fell through)
- It was refreshing to listen to visionary, strategic, practically oriented disciplemaking leaders.
- I could use someone to come along side me – like a Brian Doyle – to take next steps.
- I’d like to make contributions to MIM in SE Michigan by developing church, town, regional, denominational, Z4:10 applications of Men’s discipleship based on a well-established model at FEPC by next year.
- My first next step is to find a point man and build a leadership team for Men’s Discipleship. This would be followed by participation w/team in NMLB training.
- I believe that the next adaptation of the NMLB is a No one in the community left behind.
- I think Pat belongs on the list of speakers at WCA Leadership Summit
- God is at work in places I’ve not expected – Catholics, IPHC; UMC; ELCA
- Worship using scripture reading was okay; I’d like to encourage musical praise/singing
- Written Evaluations are parts of many conferences I go to. I think you’ll get better by offering guys a chance to provide such evaluations/suggestions.

Operation 50, Anyone?
Harrison Fagg shared at the end of the day today about what he's doing in Montana. Building a state-wide organization of men's discipleship consultants who are taking Man in the Mirror materials into every church in their area. Doing mayor's prayer breakfasts, training leaders, getting churches to give away books. Montana Man in the Mirror is alive and kickin'!So why, Harrison asks, can't every state in America (OK, provinces too, eh?) have an organized effort like Montana Man in the Mirror?
Operation 50 is born.
Operation 50 is born.

We Are Man In The Mirror
We're off and running at the Man in the Mirror Annual Summit. Lots of great presentations tonight. Pat reminded us that we are all Man in the Mirror. Not just the staff, but everyone here and that uses our resources. We are all Man in the Mirror. Kind of reminds me of that "We Are Marshall" movie.
We challenged the guys to do what is hard: reach every man in America with the Gospel; build a disciple-making ministry to men in every church in America and beyond.

Tomorrow we start the work, getting input on four key areas David Delk laid out for us to close:
- Building the Man in the Mirror Network
- Internet Strategies through disciplemen.com and the new maninthemirror.org
- The No Man Left Behind Church
- Virtual Training and Consulting
It's going to be an awesome day!

How many facilitators are presenting at Summit workshops?
18.
That's right. 18. And another 12 are on the program in the main sessions.
They include denominational leaders, regional ministry leaders, local church leaders, pastors and Man in the Mirror board and staff members.
They include men, women, young, not-so-young, baptists, presbyerians, lutherans, methodists and more.
Sort of reminds me of this passage:
You are all sons [and daughters] of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Paul, in his letter to the Galatians; chapter 3, verses 26-29)
See you in 2 days!!!

Workshops...part 2
As if the first set weren't enough, here are some more workshops that will be available at the Summit...just 3 days away!!!
The most un-churched group in western society is young men. Lutheran Men in Mission set out to discover what was keeping young men away from the church by sponsoring a research project with young men. They talked to young men who had always been in church, men who had never been in church, some who were active but are now not, and some who were not active but now are. The results of that research are written about in Coming of Age: Exploring the Identity and Spirituality of Young Men. In this workshop we’ll talk about the 11 things you need to know about young men- and how the church can come to them

A friend of yours is a leader in another church. He’s heard about your involvement in men’s discipleship and wants to sit down with you. You decide you’d like to take him through the No Man Left Behind Model so you can show him the importance of having an intentional strategy. Do you know it? Could you show it? In this session, we’ll overview the model and consider different tools that you can use to share the model on a napkin to a friend at Starbucks, or to a group on a projector at a meeting. You’ll leave this workshop understanding the model and outfitted to present it to anyone, any time, anywhere!

Generous Giving: Why We Need to Fund Men’s Discipleship
Men’s discipleship is a strategic investment. It replicates the method of Jesus. A dollar invested reaching men can bring revival, prevent broken marriages and families, and jumpstart cultural renewal, not to mention save hundreds of dollars in downstream costs. In this workshop, you’ll hear why a successful Christian businessman invests in the men’s movement, as well as general principles he uses in his own charitable giving.

Pastoring Men (for pastors only)
Reaching men is one of the great strategic opportunities—and needs—of our time. Pastors already know this….that’s why you’re here! In this session, Pat will talk about several major ideas in his new book, Pastoring Men, and present you with a complimentary copy. Then, Pat wants to hear from you: What do you need to more effectively disciple your men? What are the issues limiting your success? What resources would help you be more successful?
Training Church Leaders to ‘Reach Every Man’
Do you have the gift for teaching? A passion for training church leaders? A belief in the No Man Left Behind Model? Man in the Mirror Field Associates can offer the Reaching Every Man (REM) training as part of their ministry efforts. This 4-hour introduction to the No Man Left Behind model allows you to get church leaders to begin implementing concepts from the model before they leave. Man in the Mirror provides all the materials, you set up and conduct the training. In this workshop, you will learn how to set up, market and teach the REM from two field associates who have already been doing it successfully.

Connecting Your Ministry With Churches More Effectively
This workshop is for leaders involved in regional ministry. You’re out there with a whole toolbox of resources and expertise to offer local churches. But how do you connect with churches and leaders to help them? The facilitators of this workshop have built successful regional ministries working with hundreds of churches between them. Come listen to their strategies for building a ministry model that sustains relationships with churches. Focused discussion will include, using electronic communications, newsletters, training opportunities and conferences to build connections.
And that's still not all! More to be revealed at the Summit...
